2015 Chrysler 200s AWD

What does the s stand for you ask?  It stands for sport which makes this beauty fun to drive, and very easy on the eyes.

This is clearly the best looking 200 that has hit the streets.  The stance is menacing and the body lines grab your attention.  The front half of the car seamlessly glides to the back of the car.  Opt for the blackout trim and painted wheels and you have a fine ride to be sure.

The all-wheel drive offering is driven by a double overhead cam V6 that pumps out 295 horses with 262 lb-ft of torque.  It is coupled to a standard 9 speed automatic transmission with a sport mode.  The power is nice and one of the quickest sedans in this segment with a 0-60 time of around 6 seconds.  Most of the power is on the front wheels but will kick in the rear drive system when it detects a need for it.

The inside is quite an improvement with the UConnect powered infotainment system that gives you clear audio at good volume.  It is much improved with very responsive menu systems on an 8.4 inch screen that is bright and crisp.  The audio input options are vast including a USB port, Sirius XM satellite radio, AM/FM/Bluetooth audio, auxiliary input jack and HD FM radio.  The wood trim panels and upscale looking leather will fool you into thinking you are in a much higher grade sedan.

Design a Hellcat: Are You Serious?

While the replacement of the Dodge Challenger is still up in the air, there seems to be more questions than answers.  Some think the Barracuda will make a comeback.  With all the questions swirling, we know their plan for the 2025 Dodge SRT Hellcat. It will be designed by a high school student.  You read that right with no misprint.

"The Drive for Design contest exposes high school students to the potential of a career in automotive design," said Mark Trostle – Head of Dodge and SRT Design, FCA US LLC. "With this contest we're able to connect with young talent and offer useful tools and opportunities to help develop their artistic skills."

Four winners will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of many of the company’s lead designers, including Ralph Gilles, head of FCA global design, Joe Dehner, head of Ram Truck and Mopar design, and Mark Trostle, FCA US head of Dodge and SRT design.  “The thing that I find the most satisfying if you will, one of the reasons we really wanted to do this was to get exposure to high school students that normally may not understand the possibility of a career in automotive design,” said Trostle, who helped create the competition in 2013.

The winners will receive Apple products, a three week summer automotive design course at the College for Creative Studies, and an all -expense paid trip to Detroit.  Winners will receive their awards at a special presentation on Feb 26 at Cabo Center in Detroit.
